Description
Abenteuerspielplatz Unterföhring Aschheimer Str. 28
Located at Aschheimer Str. 28 in Unterföhring, this facility is an inclusive adventure playground designed to cater to children of all abilities. A key feature is the Schaukelwald (swing forest), which includes a variety of swings such as inclusive swings, double swings, rope swings, toddler swings, and a large seat swing. The playground also boasts a wheelchair-accessible carousel and a play bridge that is also wheelchair accessible, complete with colored peepholes and telescopes for added fun. For more adventurous play, there is a climbing garden and a climbing dome. Younger children have their own dedicated area with a small climbing frame and several carousels. A unique feature is the Schwebe-Sessel, a ropeway swing designed for children with motor impairments, which can also accommodate an accompanying adult. The playground offers numerous large picnic areas, which are also wheelchair accessible, making it a great place for families to gather. Additionally, there is a large playing field with a grill area and football goals, as well as basketball hoops and table tennis tables, catering to a wide range of activities. The playground underwent a renovation to become an integrative and inclusive space, with the work starting in spring 2024 and the grand opening held on September 5, 2024. This renovation combined popular existing features with new equipment. Generally, the playground is designed for children aged 3 to 12, and its opening hours are from May 1 to October 31, 8 am to 8 pm. Certain rules are in place to ensure safety and cleanliness, such as no glass bottles, cigarettes, alcohol, or dogs being allowed, and the requirement to remove bicycle helmets. The explicit focus on inclusivity, evidenced by the wheelchair-accessible equipment and features for children with motor impairments, highlights the playground's commitment to providing play opportunities for everyone. The diverse range of equipment caters to various interests and developmental stages of children aged 3 to 12. The presence of picnic areas and sports facilities suggests that the playground serves as a community hub for both play and social gatherings. The recent renovation indicates modern and well-maintained facilities incorporating the latest inclusive design principles.
